Andres is a composer, songwriter, orchestrator, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles, California. His first involvement with music was as the cantor in his local parish. A lover of classic stories, his love for Disney films led him to pursue filmmaking independently. Once in high school, he became involved with his school’s music program, first as a violinist, then a pianist after teaching himself piano for a year. He then picked up other keyboard instruments, bass guitar, clarinet, and percussion. Around the same time, he began experimenting with composition, first writing pieces commissioned by his school orchestra and string quartet.
Andres has written numerous scores for concert, film, and theatrical settings. He has composed original scores for productions of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Thornton Wilder’s Our Town and several short films. Most recently, he composed a short score for Shakespeare's Hamlet. He has also written for several small ensembles, namely Brightwork New Music Ensemble and the Chapman Jazz Combo. He holds two Bachelor's Degree from Chapman University, in Music Composition & Orchestral Conducting.
An avid jazz musician himself, Andres’ compositions blend traditional orchestral palettes with jazz harmonies and rhythms. His music has explored various styles, including Blues, Samba, Bossa Nova, Jazz, Pop, Funk, R&B, and Musical Theater. He takes inspiration from real-world stories, looking to elevate the importance of the individual, human experience.
